We’re so happy to welcome Maia Sharp to The Songmaker Series stage. Maia has a talent for passionate, emotionally honest songs about life and love that have won her a loyal fan following, as well as the ultimate show of respect from her peers -- her songs have been covered by the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Cher, The Dixie Chicks, David Wilcox, Kathy Mattea, Keb' Mo', Lizz Wright, Trisha Yearwood, & Art Garfunkel. Maia’s father Randy Sharp is a songwriter and recording artist (a 3-time Grammy winner), and her mother Sharon Bays, performed as a singer in her younger days. Maia showed an interest in music at an early age, becoming proficient on many instruments, including keyboards, guitar, oboe, and saxophone. She later studied music theory, where she began to explore her love of songwriting. Her latest solo album, ”The Dash Between The Dates” includes performances by Eurythmics founder Dave Stewart.
